About Oliver Roberts
Oliver Roberts is the Founder and Managing Attorney of The Roberts Legal Group. He advises companies, law firms, and public-sector legal institutions on artificial intelligence adoption, governance, and risk, as well as on broader technology, business, and litigation matters.
Roberts holds multiple leadership roles across legal practice, academia, and media. He serves as Founder and CEO of Wickard.ai, Co-Director of the AI Collaborative at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, Adjunct Professor of Law at Washington University School of Law and Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and Editor-in-Chief of AI & the Law at The National Law Review.
He has been a pioneer in AI legal education, launching the nation’s first required law school course on artificial intelligence at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, developing the inaugural AI & the Practice of Law course at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, and establishing the first legal AI education program in East Africa at Addis Ababa University School of Law. He has also guest lectured on AI and the law at George Washington University Law School, the University of Richmond School of Law, Lewis & Clark Law School, and the University of Houston Law Center, and taught the nation’s first AI education and certification program within a paralegal curriculum at Kapi‘olani Community College in Hawai‘i.
Roberts’s commentary on artificial intelligence and the legal profession is regularly published in Bloomberg Law, The National Law Review, and Law.com. As an official CLE partner of West LegalEd Center, he has delivered more than 40 continuing legal education programs nationwide on AI in legal practice, professional responsibility, and regulatory developments.
Roberts is a graduate of Harvard Law School. He previously practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and Jones Day, and founded a technology startup in the employment sector.
His litigation experience includes prevailing in two oral arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and securing a denial of certiorari from the U.S. Supreme Court in 2024, preserving one of those appellate victories.
He is admitted to practice in New York, Texas, and the District of Columbia.
